Groundbreaking Held
Ground was broken for Denver's newest
park by Mayor William J. McNichols
on Saturday, October 17. Assisting
the mayor in turning the first spade-
fulls for Quality Hill Park, located
at East Tenth Avenue and Pennsylvania
Street, were City Councilwoman Cathy
Donohue and four year old Kara Hultin,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hultin.

As the leaves fall, so do our standards. We're all tired of working in
the yard and coaxing our gardens into growth. Now that we've gotten our
water turned off outside for the year,
have put the mower away for the season, and have settled into football,
let's take just one more moment for
the neighborhood.
Between half-time, or while you're
waiting for that ride, or when you
take the trash outside, do double
duty. Pick up that litter, sweep up
that sidewalk, take that bottle and
dispose of it properly.
I know, I know, it's not your job!
It's not your litter! But if you
don't pick it up, who will?
It will take just an extra few minutes. If everyone in Capitol Hill
took ten minutes and walked around
their property, their apartment
building, or their neighborhood,
and picked up the funny bits and
pieces of trash that blow in,
that have been left, that are
scattered in the wind, it would make
a tremendous difference!
Our mothers are not here to sweep
up the world's litter. We must do
it. But it begins with you! It's
not yours, but it is yours.
