THE 10th ANNUAL CAPITOL HILL PEOPLE'S FAIR
The 1981 Capitol Hill People's Fair celebrates 10 years of neighborhood togetherness for this Spring festival.  Its growth
and success have depended solely on people's
support and enthusiasm and that is what has
made it what it is today—a celebration.
May 30/31 the East High School grounds
(Colfax & Elizabeth), will flourish with
activity beginning at dawn on Saturday and
ebbing at dusk on Sunday.  It is a people's
weekend; people who have worked hard for
the past six months organizing this celebration, people whose interest in creativity expressed their ideas for the poster
contest, those who donated their time and
talent in order to be part of the jubilation, and 475 arts and crafts people,
social service groups, and food vendors
who enjoy displaying their expertise for
all the thousands of people who will spend
a liesurely hour or two or three meeting
friends, listening to music and other entertainment, enjoying a large chocolate chip
cookie, a few burritos and beers, buying a
new set of pottery wine glasses, or innumerable other hand-made items for other
friends and family.  It's a time to enjoy
a Sunday parade, beginning at noon, or
just to people watch, catch some sun, and
be captivated by the flurry of activity,
liveliness, and togetherness of the People's
Fair.
They are too numerous to list here, those
people who need to be thanked for again
lending their spirit to bring Capitol Hill
to the forefront for people as far away as
California, neighboring New Mexico, as near
as across town, as well as across the
street.  We will all be there, all ages,
all types, touching one another and grouping together to bring another memorable
weekend, a 10th birthday celebration to a
grand opening and closing.
It's the Capitol Hill People's Fair, Saturday and Sunday, May 30/31 at East High
School.  Saturday's festivities begin at
10 a.m. through 6 and Sunday's from 11 a.m.
through 5.  (Rain dates are June 6 & 7.)
Be a part of this celebration, bring your
friends and family.
