Kismet Club Initiation Ceremony

              KISMET INITIATION CEREMONY
Setting.
The room shall be heavily Incensed,
pillowed and curtained.  The room shall be
oriental in all phases.  At one end of the
room shall be the Kismet shrine above which
shall shine the white star of Kismet fate.
The Caliph shall be hidden in the abode of
the shrine.  The Savant shall stand at the
right of the shrin© over the Flame of fate.
The members in their costumes shall stand
facing each other in two parallel lines thus
forming a pathway leading to the shrine.
The door shall open and the Kadta bearing the
Kismet torch shall light the pathway to the
shrine for the initiates.  As the Initiates
walk down the path the members shall humbly
give the Kismet Hindu bow.  Everything bespeaks absolute silence and humble sacredness,
The Ritual Proper.
One at a time the Kadta lights the
initiates' way in, and they kneel at the
shrine.
Gentle but forceful words of wlecome
from the Kaliph, she asks if the initiate
still desires to become a Kismet.  Then ask,
"Do you reverently feel that you ®an live
up to all the Ideals of the Club"?
Then the story of the White Star of
Fate - initiate should promise to love and
live by it.
OUR KISMET STAR OF FATE.
Many years ago, a young goddess,
exiled from her Heavenly home, came down
upon this earth to dwell.  She, even as we,
found this life to be full of Trials, Temptations and Misfdrtune.  One eventide, while
sadly meditating over the misfortunes the
closing day had brought forth, she noticed a
great white star in the eastern sky standing
apart from the rest.  And as she sat gazing
at it, it seemed to beckon, even beckon her.
